Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is your shooting style?

I would describe it as authentic documentary wedding photography. Relaxed, stylish, and fun!

Q. How do we get the very best photos?

Enjoy your day, live in the moment, and trust me to capture those big moments that involve you, and those small moments you don’t even see.

Q. Can you pencil us in / hold our date?

Unfortunately no. Due to the number of enquiries I receive your wedding date is only secure once you've paid the deposit / booking fee and completed the booking form and contract.

Q. How long do we have to wait for the photos?

I'm very passionate about the quality of my photographs, therefore I spend a lot of time editing your images to a tip-top standard. It normally takes 4-6 weeks to finish the images and get the full online gallery sent to you. I do like to email a selection of preview photos a few days after the wedding.

Q. Can we see some weddings you’ve photographed?

Yes… CLICK HERE to take a look at my Featured Weddings page with a great selection of weddings I’ve shot.

Q. Do we have to feed you?

It’s totally up to you. If you can feed me it really is much appreciated as it can be a long day for me, and lets face it, we all need energy to work at our best don’t we! But if for any reason you can’t supply a hot meal for me please let me know before the wedding day so that I can either make sure I bring my own food, or find somewhere nearby your venue to grab a meal when you are eating.

Q. How do we receive the images?

All your HI-RES edited photos will be uploaded to a password protected online gallery. From here you can download them and share them with your friends.

Q. Will you visit the venue before the wedding day?

The spontaneous and candid way that I photograph weddings means that it's not really important for me to see the venue. I nearly always turn up to a venue with plenty of time to have a good look around.

Q. We want lots of group photos, you can do that right?

I don't mind doing a couple of close family group shots, and of course ones of you with the bridesmaids or best man/ushers, but if you're after a photographer that is going to work off a long list of group snaps, then I'm definitely not the photographer for you. Try to keep it to 5 or 6 groups so you can get on with the important things… like relaxing and enjoying your day!

Q. I hate having my photo taken. Will this be a huge problem when we do the portraits?

Don’t worry, the majority of couples that like my relaxed style of shooting don’t like being in front of the camera. Click HERE for more info about how I shoot couple portraits. And click HERE if you’re a bride that is worried about your individual portraits on the day.

Q. How do we pay the final balance?

The balance needs to be paid at least 4 weeks before the wedding date, and is a bank transfer to my account.

Q. Are you insured?

Yes. For both public liability and professional indemnity.

Q. What camera do you use?

I’m not quite sure why I’m asked this question so much… but I am! I use Sony cameras, and Sony lenses.

I also ALWAYS carry backup equipment with me.

Q. Can you make an album for us?

Yes. Photographs look best in print, and what better way than compiling the story of your day in a gorgeous album.

Album prices start from £650.

Q. Can we meet up before we book you?

Of course we can! Whether its because you want to see for yourselves just how passionate about photography I am, or you’d feel more relaxed on your wedding day if we’re not strangers, meeting beforehand can be a great idea! I’m based in Nottingham, but if that's too far to travel, or you're just too busy, we can do what most couples do, and arrange a Zoom / FaceTime / Skype chat.

Q. I look really drunk in lots of the evening photos... why is that?

Maybe it's because you were having fun... and were actually really drunk!
